Methanol-free silane quat antimicrobials
Protect your surfaces from odor and stain-causing microorganism colonizations with BIOSAFE HE4005 and HE4001 microbials from Gelest, the first EPA-registered methanol-free silane quat antimicrobials.

Binds to surfaces and physically ruptures microbe cell membranes on contact to provide long-lasting antimicrobial protection while preventing microbes from developing resistance. Conditions surfaces for thorough disinfection and sanitization.

Protect surfaces from colonization of odor and stain causing microorganisms with efficacy verified by independent labs according to ASTM E2149, JIS Z 2801 and ISO 22196 standards. Clinical testing in hospitals showed a single application helps keep high touch surfaces hygienically clean for five weeks when incorporated into standard cleaning protocol.

Spray, wipe, soak or dip. Apply to clean surfaces and allow to dry and re-apply once a month on high touch surfaces. Products are compatible with all common surfaces and cleaning agents except anionic detergents.

A zero methanol manufacturing process
Every EPA-approved silane quat antimicrobial product currently on the market is manufactured from raw materials that contain methanol, resulting in finished products can contain up to 0.5 parts of methanol for one part of silane quats. Suppliers are not required to report methanol levels on a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) if they fall below 1%.

“Due to the rapidly increasing use of silane quats in a variety of applications, it becomes critical to make methanol-free silane quat antimicrobials available to the market. At Gelest, we have successfully developed BIOSAFE HE4005 and HE4001 Antimicrobials using methanol-free processes and obtained the regulatory approvals as antimicrobial preservatives for a broad range of applications including surfaces and materials that come into direct contact with food.”

Used to preserve treated articles by preventing the growth of stain-and odor-causing bacteria, fungi, mold and mildew, BIOSAFE Antimicrobials are found in a wide range of EPA-approved applications including Careismatic Certainty SmartBoost Laundry Additive for healthcare uniforms, and National Wiper Alliance Quat Keeper Foodservice Towels for restaurants and cafeterias.
